School Council

Our school council has helped our headteacher to decide on quite a few issues that are important to the children, including:

  • Clubs (which clubs to have and when to have them)
  • The new library area (the children wanted a separate library area)
  • The new outdoor Prederi area (a outside space for the children to think and play)
St. Maddern's Church of England Primary School believes that the school council plays a vital role in school life, both in helping to let the staff know about the children's desires through an alternative method of communication, allowing the children to feel they have a voice in how the school is run and to help teach the children what it means to be a contributing citizen in a democratic society.
