Phonics

At Madron Daniel we use the Letters and Sounds sequence to teaching phonics. Phonics teaching enables children to learn different phonemes and how to blend and segment phonemes for reading and segment phonemes for writing.  We use Jolly Phonics and Phonics Play resources to supporting resources from Jolly Phonics and Phonics Play. We have carefully graded reading scheme using Big Cat reading books that is carefully aligned with the sequence of teaching phonics.

Our 'Phonics Presentation for Parents' and 'Tips for reading individually' video provide great support to help you understand how we do this.
