The Nursery is run by the school  and is inspected alongside the main school. We are therefore eligible for 3 and 4 year-old funding from the government.  This means that from the term following your child's third birthday they are entitled to 15 funded hours per week, during term-time.

You may also be eligible for 2 year old funding or working families funding (15 hours for 2 year-olds or 30 hours for 3 and 4 year-olds), depending on your circumstances.

Madron Daniel School and Nursery has a real family atmosphere.  We are part of a village school with a small classes, which allows staff to really get to know your child individually.  This ensures that activities and resources are tailored to your child, to challenge and interest them, supporting their needs and building on their successes.  We are an inclusive setting, which is open and accessible to all children irrespective of disability,  ethnicity, culture or religion.

We believe in developing each child’s potential through structured play sessions, with a balance of adult-led and child-initiated learning opportunities based on children's interests.  Our aim is that children learn whilst having fun!

We have amazing outdoor spaces which is separate from the main school playground, which we use daily.  We are also lucky enough to have a large school field and an orchard, allowing for plenty of outdoor learning opportunities, including a developing Forest School.

Our nursery classroom is situated within the main school building. Children are able to spend time with the Reception children during continuous provision, this is invaluable to enable to transition seamlessly into school.

Curriculum Statement

At Madron Daniel, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework (EYFS).

Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage for group and school providers (publishing.service.gov.uk)

Parents/Guardians

You are the children's first and most important educators.  When parents and staff work together in an ‘early years’ setting, the results have a positive impact on the child's development and learning.  Therefore, in our nursery, we aim to develop an effective partnership with you, allowing your child to benefit from our cooperation and encouraging a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise.

To keep you informed of your child's learning, we use the online platform - Seesaw.  Each child also has their own 'Busy Book', which is full of photos detailing your child's memorable moments.
